GHSA-gpcg-h6x2-c26p: Duplicate Advisory: uutils coreutils has an Improper Input Validation issue
0

An argument parsing error in the kill utility of uutils coreutils causes the command 'kill -1' to be misinterpreted as sending the default signal (SIGTERM) to PID -1. This results in the kernel terminating all processes visible to the caller, potentially causing a system crash or widespread process termination. This behavior differs from GNU coreutils, which correctly treats '-1' as a signal number and reports a missing PID argument. The vulnerability affects versions of uutils coreutils prior to 0.6.0.
