n8n: Authenticated code execution in the n8n Git node 0 Authenticated users of n8n with workflow creation and execution rights can achieve code execution on the host via the Git node. This occurs when the Git node, under default security settings, processes a crafted local repository that triggers git hooks to run arbitrary commands as the n8n process user. Both self-hosted and cloud instances are affected if these conditions are met. The vulnerability is fixed in n8n versions 1.123.67, 2.31.5, and 2.32.1 and later. Temporary mitigations include restricting access to trusted users, disabling the Git node, and limiting network egress. These mitigations do not fully resolve the risk and upgrading is recommended.
