Malicious code in n8n-nodes-quick-utils (npm)
0

The n8n-nodes-quick-utils npm package versions 1.0.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2 contain malicious code that, upon import, opens a reverse shell to a hardcoded IP, allowing remote code execution as the n8n process user. It attempts Docker host escapes to gain persistent root SSH access by injecting a backdoor public key. The package also performs host reconnaissance, exfiltrates sensitive files including Kubernetes and SSH configs, and attempts credential stuffing against a local API. The package falsely advertises itself as a generic utility for n8n nodes, but its actual behavior is malicious.
