Malicious code in async-mutex-lock (npm) 0 The npm package async-mutex-lock version 5.3.1 is a malicious package that does not implement its advertised mutex-lock functionality. Instead, it exports a function that fetches and executes attacker-controlled JavaScript code from a suspicious IP address, masquerading as a legitimate CDN. The package includes dependencies consistent with information-stealing activities such as DPAPI decryption, machine fingerprinting, and browser data extraction. This malicious behavior poses a risk of remote code execution on the host running the package. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/05/2026, 13:10:04 UTC Added: 08/05/2026, 15:31:14 UTC |
