Malicious code in claims-types (npm)
0

The npm package 'claims-types' version 35.8.3 contains malicious code that downloads and executes binaries from Cloudflare Workers hosts or via a DNS TXT record covert channel. The malicious payload is saved under disguised filenames in temporary directories, made executable, and spawned detached from the main process. This behavior is designed to evade static detection by assembling hostnames and API calls dynamically and using cover stories like 'analytics' and 'telemetry'. A secondary dropper module with similar behavior is present but not actively used in this version.
