Malicious code in devplatform-react-scripts (npm)
0

The npm package devplatform-react-scripts version 35.2.9 contains malicious code that executes arbitrary attacker binaries on the host machine. Upon loading, it reconstructs obfuscated Cloudflare Workers hostnames and uses a DNS-TXT base64 fallback to fetch a platform-specific binary. This binary is saved to temporary directories, given executable permissions, and executed detached from the main process. The package masquerades as a react-scripts adapter, but its actual behavior is to run opaque malicious code. Telemetry mechanisms are included with opt-out environment variables. Any user installing and requiring this package version is at risk of arbitrary code execution.
