AI-suggested
A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users and administrators should apply the official kernel updates that include this patch to prevent potential denial of service. Since no cloud service is involved and no vendor advisory is provided in the input, confirm patch availability from the official Linux kernel sources or distributions. Until patched, avoid configurations that could trigger the mismatch between DAI links and topology.
Description
CVE-2026-43137 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ASoC SOF Intel HDA component. It involves a NULL pointer dereference caused by a mismatch between DAI links in the machine driver and the topology, particularly affecting loopback capture scenarios. This flaw can lead to a denial of service due to kernel crash. The issue has been fixed by adding error returns when the playback/capture widget is not set, preventing the NULL pointer dereference.
