AI-suggested
Upgrade n8n to version 2.28.1 or later, or 2.27.4 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed. No other mitigation is required as the vendor has provided an official fix.
Description
n8n versions before 2.28.1 contain an information disclosure vulnerability where authenticated project editors can access plaintext external secret values by referencing them in workflow node expressions, bypassing explicit secret access permissions. This flaw allows reading sensitive external secrets outside the intended credentials scope.
