A patch is available and should be applied. Fixed versions include 7.35.0-1ubuntu2.20+esm24, 7.47.0-1ubuntu2.19+esm21, 7.58.0-2ubuntu3.24+esm15, 7.68.0-1ubuntu2.25+esm10, 7.81.0-1ubuntu1.30, and later. Users should upgrade to these versions or later to remediate the vulnerability.

Description

A vulnerability in libcurl's TFTP state machine allows a malicious TFTP server to manipulate state transitions, causing the client to transmit data from a reused handle's persistent read data pointer. This can lead to unintended data leakage from prior unrelated operations. The issue affects multiple Ubuntu package versions of curl and has been fixed in later releases.
