AI-suggested

A patch is available in perl-DBI version 1.643-13.oe2403sp1 that fixes this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the issue. Until patched, avoid setting the DBI_PROFILE environment variable with untrusted values that include an {attr} element in the Profile Path.

Description

A type confusion vulnerability exists in perl-DBI versions before 1.643-13.oe2403sp1 in the dbi_profile function when a database handle is destroyed under a Profile Path containing an {attr} element. This can cause a segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) and crash the process. The vulnerability arises because the code dereferences an invalid pointer during attribute lookup when the handle is being destroyed. The issue can be triggered by setting the DBI_PROFILE environment variable. A fix is available in version 1.643-13.oe2403sp1.
