AI-suggested
Red Hat has not yet released a fix for this vulnerability in Ansible Automation Platform 2.2. To mitigate the risk, it is recommended to validate input lengths and object sizes on all client APIs and web interfaces, and block, drop, or truncate oversized string, array, or binary objects before they reach backend SQL queries. Monitor Red Hat advisories for official patches or updates.
Description
CVE-2026-6473 is an integer overflow vulnerability in PostgreSQL that affects Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.2. It allows an unprivileged database user to cause an undersized memory allocation leading to an out-of-bounds write. This can result in arbitrary code execution as the operating system user running the database or cause a denial of service via segmentation fault. Default Red Hat Enterprise Linux security features mitigate the risk of arbitrary code execution, but the vulnerability remains important.
