CVE-2026-44516 is a vulnerability in the Valtimo open-source business process automation platform affecting versions from 12.4.0 up to but not including 12.33.0, and from 13.0.0 up to but not including 13.26.0. The issue arises because the LoggingRestClientCustomizer component logs full HTTP request and response bodies and headers, including sensitive information, at the ERROR log level when an error response occurs.
Valtimo is an open-source business process automation platform.com.ritense.valtimo:document from 12.0.0 to before 12.32.0, com.ritense.valtimo:case from 13.0.0 to before 13.23.0, and com.ritense.valtimo:contract from 13.4.0 to before 13.23.0 evaluate Spring Expression Language (SpEL) expressions from user-supplied input using StandardEvaluationContext, which provides unrestricted access to Java types and methods. An authenticated user with the ADMIN role can achieve Remote Code Execution and credential exfiltration. This vulnerability is fixed in com.ritense.valtimo:document 2.32.0, com.ritense.valtimo:case 13.23.0, and com.ritense.valtimo:contract 13.23.0.
Valtimo is an open-source business process automation platform. In versions 13.0.0 through 13.21.0, the InboxHandlingService logs the full content of every incoming inbox message at INFO level. Inbox messages can contain highly sensitive information including personal data (PII), citizen identifiers (BSN), and case details. This data is exposed to anyone with access to application logs or any Valtimo user with the admin role through the Admin UI logging module. This issue has been fixed in version 13.22.0. If developers are unable to upgrade immediately, they can restrict access to application logs and adjust the log level for com.ritense.inbox to WARN or higher in their application configuration as a workaround.
Valtimo is a platform for Business Process Automation. In versions before 12.16.0.RELEASE, and from 13.0.0.RELEASE to before 13.1.2.RELEASE, any admin that can create or modify and execute process-definitions could gain access to sensitive data or resources. This includes but is not limited to: running executables on the application host, inspecting and extracting data from the host environment or application properties, spring beans (application context, database pooling). The following conditions have to be met in order to perform this attack: the user must be logged in, have the admin role, and must have some knowledge about running scripts via a the Camunda/Operator engine. Version 12.16.0 and 13.1.2 have been patched. It is strongly advised to upgrade. If no scripting is needed in any of the processes, it could be possible to disable it altogether via the ProcessEngineConfiguration. However, this workaround could lead to unexpected side-effects.
Valtimo is a platform for Business Process Automation. In versions starting from 11.0.0.RELEASE to 11.3.3.RELEASE and 12.0.0.RELEASE to 12.12.0.RELEASE, all objects for which an object-management configuration exists can be listed, viewed, edited, created or deleted by unauthorised users. If object-urls are exposed via other channels, the contents of these objects can be viewed independent of object-management configurations. This issue has been patched in version 12.13.0.RELEASE. A workaround for this issue involves overriding the endpoint security as defined in ObjectenApiHttpSecurityConfigurer and ObjectManagementHttpSecurityConfigurer. Depending on the implementation, this could result in loss of functionality.
