Upgrade Git for Windows to version 2.55.0.windows.3 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in Git for Windows versions from 2.44.0.windows.1 up to 2.55.0.windows.3 causes a heap buffer overflow due to improper sizing of a wide-character credential buffer when both password and oauth_refresh_token are present. This leads to a fixed two-byte NUL overwrite that can cause Windows heap corruption and may result in the git credential approve operation reporting success despite failing to store the OAuth credential. The issue is fixed in version 2.55.0.windows.3.
