| Medium | 4.9 | EPSS 0.3% | Medium4.9EPSS 0.3%GCVE DatabaseCVE-2026-48737 ## Summary `is_global_address` in [`src/pyload/core/utils/web/check.py`](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/blob/1b12dc7f348db8c144e0f39215680415e90ca4d2/src/pyload/core/utils/web/check.py) is the central guard against SSRF-style outbound connections in pyload-ng. It tests whether a given IP is "globally routable" via Python's `ipaddress.ip_address(value).is_global`, and callers treat `not is_global` as "deny": ```python def is_global_address(value): try: return ipaddress.ip_address(value).is_global except ValueError: return False def is_global_host(value): ips = host_to_ip(value) return ips and all((is_global_address(ip) for ip in ips)) ``` Python's `ipaddress.IPv6Address.is_global` classifies the NAT64 well-known prefix as **globally routable** on every supported Python version (3.9 through 3.14 confirmed), and on older Pythons (3.9-3.11) the 6to4 prefix as well: | address | `is_global` on Py 3.9-3.11 | `is_global` on Py 3.12+ | wrapped IPv4 | |----------------------------------|---------------------------|--------------------------|----------------------| | `2002:7f00:0001::` (6to4) | True | False | 127.0.0.1 | | `2002:0a00:0001::` (6to4) | True | False | 10.0.0.1 | | `2002:a9fe:a9fe::` (6to4) | True | False | 169.254.169.254 (IMDS)| | `64:ff9b::a9fe:a9fe` (NAT64) | True | True | 169.254.169.254 | | `64:ff9b::7f00:1` (NAT64) | True | True | 127.0.0.1 | pyload-ng declares `python_requires = >=3.9` (`setup.cfg`), so deployments on Python 3.9-3.11 see the 6to4 path too. The NAT64 path is universal. `is_global` returns True for these wrappers, so `is_global_address` returns True and the deny check passes. The pycurl `PREREQFUNC` at [`src/pyload/core/network/http/http_request.py:680`](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/blob/1b12dc7f348db8c144e0f39215680415e90ca4d2/src/pyload/core/network/http/http_request.py#L680) consults the same helper just before TCP-connect: ```python if not self.allow_private_ip: is_proxy_ip = self.http_proxy_host and self.http_proxy_host == (conn_primary_ip, conn_primary_port) if not is_global_address(conn_primary_ip) and not is_proxy_ip: return pycurl.PREREQFUNC_ABORT return pycurl.PREREQFUNC_OK ``` On a host with 6to4 routing (legacy operator tunnels; `2002::/16` still configurable) or NAT64 (cloud IPv6-only subnets with NAT64 gateway), the encoded form routes to the embedded IPv4 and the curl connection terminates at the internal endpoint, defeating the deny. `is_global_host` (the helper that callers like `parse_urls` use against a URL hostname) feeds through `host_to_ip` which pins `family=AF_INET`, so hostname-based reach to these forms relies on the attacker supplying an IPv6 literal in the URL — but the curl PREREQFUNC sees the actual resolved IP (the AAAA returned for the hostname), so a hostname with an AAAA record set to one of the bypass forms reaches the same gap. Cross-reference: this is the same incomplete-coverage class as pydantic-ai's [GHSA-cqp8-fcvh-x7r3](https://github.com/pydantic/pydantic-ai/security/advisories/GHSA-cqp8-fcvh-x7r3) / CVE-2026-46678. pyload-ng's prior SSRF advisories [GHSA-7gvf-3w72-p2pg](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-7gvf-3w72-p2pg) and [GHSA-8rp3-xc6w-5qp5](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/security/advisories/GHSA-8rp3-xc6w-5qp5) both went through `is_global_host` / `is_global_address`; the IPv6 transition gap is orthogonal to those redirect-bypass classes. ## Severity **MEDIUM** — `CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:N/A:L` = **4.7** - `AC:H` — exploitation requires the host network to route 6to4 (`2002::/16` traffic), have a NAT64 gateway, or otherwise resolve the IPv6 transition form to an internal IPv4 endpoint at the TCP layer. - `PR:L` — `parse_urls` ([`src/pyload/core/api/__init__.py:582`](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/blob/1b12dc7f348db8c144e0f39215680415e90ca4d2/src/pyload/core/api/__init__.py#L582)) requires `Perms.ADD`, which any account capable of adding links holds. The curl PREREQFUNC at [`http_request.py:680`](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/blob/1b12dc7f348db8c144e0f39215680415e90ca4d2/http_request.py#L680) is reached by every downloader plugin that runs after `is_global_host` passed. - `C:L/A:L` — internal-network recon and timing-based confirmation; cloud-metadata exfiltration on networks where the transition form actually routes. **CWE-918**: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). ## Affected versions `pyload-ng` from the introduction of `is_global_address` / `is_global_host` in [`src/pyload/core/utils/web/check.py`](https://github.com/pyload/pyload/blob/1b12dc7f348db8c144e0f39215680415e90ca4d2/src/pyload/core/utils/web/check.py) up to an | GCVE Database | ||

| High | 8.7 | EPSS 0.8% | High8.7EPSS 0.8%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-56811 Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in phoenixframework phoenix (Phoenix.Socket module) allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service against any endpoint that mounts a Phoenix socket with a reachable channel transport (WebSocket or LongPoll). This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/phoenix/socket.ex and program routine 'Elixir.Phoenix.Socket':handle_in/4. Phoenix transports do not limit the number of channels that a single transport process may join. Every phx_join message a client sends over one connection starts a persistent channel process, and the socket process accepts an unbounded number of them. A single unauthenticated client can therefore open one WebSocket or LongPoll connection and stream a large number of phx_join messages, spawning hundreds of thousands of channel processes over that one connection and eventually reaching the BEAM maximum process limit. Once the process table is exhausted the virtual machine can no longer start new processes, denying service to legitimate traffic across the whole node. Because the amplification happens inside a single connection, network-layer connection caps and rate limiting do not mitigate it. The fix adds a :max_channels_per_transport option (default 100) that bounds the number of channels a single transport process can join, forcing abusive clients to open many connections instead, where external load balancers and reverse proxies can throttle them. This issue affects phoenix: from 0.11.0 before 1.5.15, from 1.6.0-rc.0 before 1.6.17, from 1.7.0-rc.0 before 1.7.24, and from 1.8.0-rc.0 before 1.8.9. | CVE Database V5 | ||

TOP ATTACKS AND BREACHES River Bank & Trust, a US financial institution, has experienced a ransomware incident after an unauthorized actor accessed the network of parent company River Financial Corporation on June 16. The bank found ransomware on portions of its server environment and is assessing whether personal data was accessed or exfiltrated. Indra Group, a Spanish defense, aerospace, and technology contractor and NATO cyber coalition member, has confirmed a ransomware attack affecting one subsidiary. The Gentlemen ransomware gang threatened to leak allegedly stolen data, while Indra said the incident was contained and that service continuity was maintained. Check Point Threat Emulation and Harmony Endpoint provide protection against this threat Nidec, a Japanese electric motor and industrial manufacturer, has disclosed a ransomware attack affecting the network of its Taiwanese subsidiary, Nidec Chaun Choung Technology. BlackField group claimed responsibility and alleged theft of more than two terabytes of corporate data, including employee, financial, procurement, manufacturing, legal, and IT records. US insurance firm Aflac has disclosed a data breach affecting its Japan operations after attackers accessed its policyholder portal between June 15 and June 25. Personal and financial data of nearly 4.4 million customers was exposed, including policyholder information and premium payment account details. AI THREATS Check Point Research has demonstrated a browser-native ransomware technique generated by a large language model that abuses Chrome’s File System Access API. A fake image-enhancement page convinces users to grant folder access, then reads, exfiltrates, and encrypts photos inside the browser on Android and Windows. Researchers examined shell command injection weaknesses in open-source AI coding agents, finding that 10 out of 11 popular tools failed to block obfuscated destructive commands. Simple rewrites bypassed filters and enabled destructive actions, including file deletion, while only the Continue agent properly parsed commands. Researchers warned that attackers are exploiting LLM phantom squatting by registering AI-generated domains to hijack traffic and deliver phishing. They recorded 250,000 hallucinated domains and subsequent registrations, including an AI-built phishing kit, Montana Empire, using a postal-service domain for credential theft. | Medium | 6.3 | EPSS 0.2% | CVE-2026-54887Erlang OTP · Use of Default Cryptographic Key Medium6.3EPSS 0.2%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-54887 Use of Default Cryptographic Key vulnerability in Erlang/OTP ssl (DTLS server) allows predictable DTLS cookie computation during the startup window, enabling source address verification bypass. On DTLS server startup, dtls_server_connection:initial_hello/3 initializes previous_cookie_secret to the empty binary (<<>>) instead of a random value. Because HMAC with an empty key is deterministic, anyone who observes the plaintext ClientHello can compute dtls_handshake:cookie(<<>>, IP, Port, Hello) and forge a valid DTLS cookie before the first rotation of the cookie secret. The DTLS cookie (RFC 6347 §4.2.1) is a denial-of-service mitigation that prevents spoofed source IPs from forcing the server to allocate state and perform expensive cryptographic operations; it is not an authentication mechanism. During the window from server startup until the first secret rotation (0 to 15 seconds), an attacker who can observe the plaintext ClientHello can bypass the source address verification, enabling DTLS handshake amplification with spoofed source addresses. This vulnerability is associated with program file lib/ssl/src/dtls_server_connection.erl and program routine dtls_server_connection:initial_hello/3. This issue affects OTP from OTP 20.0 before OTP 29.0.3, OTP 28.5.0.3 and OTP 27.3.4.14, corresponding to ssl from 8.2 before 11.7.3, 11.6.0.3 and 11.2.12.10. | CVE Database V5

| Medium | 6.5 | EPSS 0.3% | CVE-2026-58374w1.fi hostapd · Off-by-one Error Medium6.5EPSS 0.3%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-58374 In hostapd before 2.12, a missing bounds check in AP-mode Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) Multi-Link Operation (MLO) association request processing allows an unauthenticated attacker within wireless range to send a crafted management frame containing a malformed Multi-Link Element or Per-STA Profile subelement. In hostapd_process_ml_assoc_req() in src/ap/ieee802_11_eht.c, the received link_id field can be parsed as value 15, but the corresponding links[] storage only has valid entries for lower link IDs (0 through 14). This causes an out-of-bounds write / small memory corruption during association processing before the 4-way handshake. The attack does not require network credentials, prior authentication, or user interaction. The confirmed practical impact is denial of service through hostapd process termination. This affects hostapd v2.11 and newer development snapshots before v2.12 when built with CONFIG_IEEE80211BE enabled. The issue is fixed in hostapd v2.12 and the upstream 2026-1 fixes. | CVE Database V5 | ||

| Medium | 5.5 | EPSS 0.1% | Medium5.5EPSS 0.1%GCVE DatabaseCVE-2026-53289 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix NULL pointer dereference in ice_reset_all_vfs() ice_reset_all_vfs() ignores the return value of ice_vf_rebuild_vsi(). When the VSI rebuild fails (e.g. during NVM firmware update via nvmupdate64e), ice_vsi_rebuild() tears down the VSI on its error path, leaving txq_map and rxq_map as NULL. The subsequent unconditional call to ice_vf_post_vsi_rebuild() leads to a NULL pointer dereference in ice_ena_vf_q_mappings() when it accesses vsi->txq_map[0]. The single-VF reset path in ice_reset_vf() already handles this correctly by checking the return value of ice_vf_reconfig_vsi() and skipping ice_vf_post_vsi_rebuild() on failure. Apply the same pattern to ice_reset_all_vfs(): check the return value of ice_vf_rebuild_vsi() and skip ice_vf_post_vsi_rebuild() and ice_eswitch_attach_vf() on failure. The VF is left safely disabled (ICE_VF_STATE_INIT not set, VFGEN_RSTAT not set to VFACTIVE) and can be recovered via a VFLR triggered by a PCI reset of the VF (sysfs reset or driver rebind). Note that this patch does not prevent the VF VSI rebuild from failing during NVM update — the underlying cause is firmware being in a transitional state while the EMP reset is processed, which can cause Admin Queue commands (ice_add_vsi, ice_cfg_vsi_lan) to fail. This patch only prevents the subsequent NULL pointer dereference that crashes the kernel when the rebuild does fail. crash> bt PID: 50795 TASK: ff34c9ee708dc680 CPU: 1 COMMAND: "kworker/u512:5" #0 [ff72159bcfe5bb50] machine_kexec at ffffffffaa8850ee #1 [ff72159bcfe5bba8] __crash_kexec at ffffffffaaa15fba #2 [ff72159bcfe5bc68] crash_kexec at ffffffffaaa16540 #3 [ff72159bcfe5bc70] oops_end at ffffffffaa837eda #4 [ff72159bcfe5bc90] page_fault_oops at ffffffffaa893997 #5 [ff72159bcfe5bce8] exc_page_fault at ffffffffab528595 #6 [ff72159bcfe5bd10] asm_exc_page_fault at ffffffffab600bb2 [exception RIP: ice_ena_vf_q_mappings+0x79] RIP: ffffffffc0a85b29 RSP: ff72159bcfe5bdc8 RFLAGS: 00010206 RAX: 00000000000f0000 RBX: ff34c9efc9c00000 RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: 0000000000000010 RDI: ff34c9efc9c00000 RBP: ff34c9efc27d4828 R8: 0000000000000093 R9: 0000000000000040 R10: ff34c9efc27d4828 R11: 0000000000000040 R12: 0000000000100000 R13: 0000000000000010 R14: R15: ORIG_RAX: ffffffffffffffff CS: 0010 SS: 0018 #7 [ff72159bcfe5bdf8] ice_sriov_post_vsi_rebuild at ffffffffc0a85e2e [ice] #8 [ff72159bcfe5be08] ice_reset_all_vfs at ffffffffc0a920b4 [ice] #9 [ff72159bcfe5be48] ice_service_task at ffffffffc0a31519 [ice] #10 [ff72159bcfe5be88] process_one_work at ffffffffaa93dca4 #11 [ff72159bcfe5bec8] worker_thread at ffffffffaa93e9de #12 [ff72159bcfe5bf18] kthread at ffffffffaa946663 #13 [ff72159bcfe5bf50] ret_from_fork at ffffffffaa8086b9 The panic occurs attempting to dereference the NULL pointer in RDX at ice_sriov.c:294, which loads vsi->txq_map (offset 0x4b8 in ice_vsi). | Medium | 4.4 | EPSS 0.2% | Medium4.4EPSS 0.2%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-47778 Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.35.11, 1.36.7, 1.37.3, and 1.38.1, a structural flaw was identified in DefaultCertValidator::verifySubjectAltName where the extracted DNS SAN string is cast to a C-style string using .c_str() before being passed to the Utility::dnsNameMatch() algorithm. If the attacker serves a certificate with a dNSName SAN containing an embedded NUL byte, the helper Utility::generalNameAsString captures the complete string including the NUL. However, when .c_str() evaluates it, implicit conversion to absl::string_view inside dnsNameMatch relies on strlen(), prematurely truncating the evaluation context. Envoy evaluates trucated string against the exact required config_san match and returns true, thereby successfully validating the string with the Nul byte for an upstream routing. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.35.11, 1.36.7, 1.37.3, and 1.38.1. | CVE Database V5 | ||

Prior to 8.5.0, 8.4.1, 8.3.3, 8.2.3, 8.1.4, 8.0.5, 7.13.7, and 7.10.11, Rocket.Chat's sendFileMessage DDP method passes the entire attacker-supplied file object into Uploads.updateFileComplete, which merges it directly into a MongoDB $set update via Object.assign. There is no allow-list of writable fields. An attacker can therefore rewrite any column on their own upload record, notably store and the store-specific path fields. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.5.0, 8.4.1, 8.3.3, 8.2.3, 8.1.4, 8.0.5, 7.13.7, and 7.10.11. | CVE Database V5
