Privilege Defined With Unsafe Actions vulnerability in Apache Cassandra. An user with MODIFY permission ON ALL KEYSPACES can escalate privileges to superuser within a targeted Cassandra cluster via unsafe actions to a system resource. Operators granting data MODIFY permission on all keyspaces on affected versions should review data access rules for potential breaches.
This issue affects Apache Cassandra 3.0.30, 3.11.17, 4.0.16, 4.1.7, 5.0.2, but this advisory is only for 4.0.16 because the fix to CVE-2025-23015 was incorrectly applied to 4.0.16, so that version is still affected.
Users in the 4.0 series are recommended to upgrade to version 4.0.17 which fixes the issue. Users from 3.0, 3.11, 4.1 and 5.0 series should follow recommendation from CVE-2025-23015.
A critical use-after-free vulnerability (CVE-2025-38527) exists in the Linux kernel's SMB client implementation in the cifs_oplock_break function. This flaw arises from a race condition during unmounting, where the cinode structure is accessed after it has been freed, potentially leading to system compromise. The issue is fixed by holding an extra reference to the superblock during the oplock break operation to prevent premature cleanup. Multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.0-1097.104~20.04.1 and specific 4.11 and 4.13 versions are affected. A patch is available and should be applied to mitigate the vulnerability.
Improper neutralization of newlines in pg_dump in PostgreSQL allows a user of the origin server to inject arbitrary code for restore-time execution as the client operating system account running psql to restore the dump, via psql meta-commands inside a purpose-crafted object name. The same attacks can achieve SQL injection as a superuser of the restore target server.pg_dumpall, pg_restore, and pg_upgrade are also affected. Versions before PostgreSQL 17.6, 16.10, 15.14, 14.19, and 13.22 are affected. Versions before 11.20 are unaffected. CVE-2012-0868 had fixed this class of problem, but version 11.20 reintroduced it.
A Ukrainian Web3 team's interview process involved cloning a GitHub repository containing malicious components. Analysis revealed the project replaced a legitimate dependency with a malicious NPM package, rtk-logger@1.11.5. This package collected sensitive data, including cryptocurrency wallet information, from popular browsers and uploaded it to an attacker-controlled server. The malware also implemented keylogging, screen capture, and clipboard monitoring. Two other GitHub accounts were found using a similar malicious package. The scam aimed to trick interviewees into executing malicious code, potentially leading to data leaks and asset theft. Developers are advised to exercise caution when handling unknown GitHub projects and to use isolated environments for execution.
