UAT-10147 is a sophisticated Chinese-speaking intrusion actor deploying a cross-platform backdoor named SPECTRE targeting IIS and Linux servers. SPECTRE integrates advanced post-exploitation features including process injection, credential theft, anti-analysis, and kernel-level EDR bypass via Bring Your Own Virtual Driver (BYOVD) techniques. The campaign combines SEO fraud monetization with custom malware, open-source tools, and AI-assisted development workflows. The Windows variant of SPECTRE uses runtime API resolution and string encryption to evade static detection and includes a comprehensive command set for system control and persistence. The Linux variant incorporates a kernel rootkit with similar advanced capabilities. The actor also uses in-memory web shells and sophisticated evasion methods. No patch or remediation is indicated in the available data.
SilkParasite is a cyberespionage operation assessed with medium confidence as China-nexus that targeted government bodies across Central Asia. Seven remote access tool families were deployed, five of which were previously undocumented: DriveSilkRAT, CookiETagRAT, NomadRAT, GoginRAT, and NodeEdgeRAT. The toolset is small, modular, and professionally engineered with traces of AI-assisted development. Initial access occurred through malicious Microsoft Office documents delivered via spear-phishing, using regionally tailored lures impersonating government ministries. The operation leveraged DLL sideloading as the primary delivery mechanism and used Google Drive for command-and-control communications to hide within trusted services. Infrastructure analysis identified connections to China Unicom's backbone network, and operational patterns suggest a functioning software organization with maintained build pipelines and careful operational security.
Grav Shortcode Core Plugin allows for the development shortcode plugins that utilize the common format utilized by WordPress and BBCode. Prior to 6.2.2, Grav Shortcode Core passes shortcode syntax through Security::detectXss() because it contains no literal less-than character, then ColorShortcode.php and related attribute handlers concatenate an attacker-controlled parameter into HTML without encoding. An account with admin.pages permission can close the generated attribute and add an event handler, creating stored cross-site scripting that executes for visitors or administrators who view the page. This issue is fixed in version 6.2.2.
The npm package 'dev-env-check' version 1.0.3 contains malicious code that executes during installation on Windows systems. It uses a postinstall hook to run a PowerShell command that downloads and executes a file named msedge_update.exe from a suspicious external URL, impersonating a Microsoft Edge update. The malicious behavior is obfuscated using XOR encoding with misleading comments. The package falsely advertises itself as a development environment validator but performs unauthorized remote code execution.
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.33.0, com.rabbitmq.client.ConnectionFactory.useSslProtocol() and ConnectionFactory.useSslProtocol(String) configure com.rabbitmq.client.TrustEverythingTrustManager and leave hostname verification disabled, causing arbitrary server certificates, including self-signed certificates, to be accepted. A network attacker able to intercept a TLS connection can impersonate the RabbitMQ broker, read protected AMQP traffic, and modify traffic without certificate or hostname validation. The fix changes the production TLS helpers to use the JVM default trust store and enables hostname verification, while retaining an explicitly named development-only no-verification helper. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.0.
Researchers identified an exposed web directory on infrastructure supporting a cryptocurrency fraud operation tracked as Operation ASTERIX. The server contained phone-number datasets, account-validation tools, phishing panels, voice-dialing scripts, and fake wallet applications for Ledger, Trezor, and Exodus. The operator validated approximately 885,000 phone numbers against cryptocurrency exchange accounts, achieving a 13.6% hit rate on German numbers. Victims received coordinated phishing emails and vishing calls referencing fake support cases before being directed to counterfeit wallet applications designed to steal recovery phrases via Telegram exfiltration. Notable findings include extensive use of AI coding assistants throughout development, including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code. When one AI model resisted malicious requests, the operator switched providers and attempted to bypass safety controls using a structured jailbreak prompt targeting the model's reasoning patterns and safety mechanisms.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: clean up XDP TX queues when regular TX setup fails create_queues_with_size_backoff() creates XDP TX queues before setting up the regular TX path. If the subsequent allocation or creation of regular TX queues fails, the error handling paths omit the teardown of the XDP TX queues, leading to a resource leak. Fix this by explicitly destroying the XDP TX queue subset at the two missing failure points. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still present in v7.1-rc7. An x86_64 allyesconfig build showed no new warnings. As we do not have an ENA device to test with, no runtime testing was able to be performed.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: HWS, fix matcher leak on resize target setup failure hws_bwc_matcher_move() allocates a replacement matcher before setting it as the resize target. If mlx5hws_matcher_resize_set_target() fails, the replacement matcher is not attached anywhere and is leaked. Fix the leak by destroying the replacement matcher before returning from the resize-target failure path. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still present in v7.1.1. An x86_64 allyesconfig build showed no new warnings. As we do not have a mlx5 HWS-capable device to test with, no runtime testing was able to be performed.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-pf: fix SQB pointer leak on init failure otx2_init_hw_resources() initializes SQ aura and pool resources before several later setup steps. On failure, err_free_sq_ptrs only frees SQB pages, leaving the per-SQ sqb_ptrs arrays behind. Use otx2_free_sq_res() for the SQ unwind path and let it free sqb_ptrs even when sq->sqe has not been allocated yet. As we do not have an OcteonTX2 PF device and the corresponding AF mailbox setup to test with, no runtime testing was able to be performed.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: fix memory leak in ieee80211_register_hw() If kmemdup() fails while copying supported band structures, the error path jumps to fail_rate. This skips rate_control_deinitialize() and leaks the initialized local->rate_ctrl. Fix this by adding a fail_band label that shares the rate-control cleanup path before falling through to the remaining teardown. As we do not have a suitable mac80211 device/driver combination to test with, no runtime testing was able to be performed.
