A flaw was found in the `lm-evaluation-harness` component of Red Hat OpenShift AI. An authenticated user, able to submit an evaluation job, could exploit this by providing a malicious model URL in the `JobSpec`. This vulnerability allows for the disclosure of the tenant's model authentication secret to an attacker-controlled external listener. Additionally, it enables Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks against internal network endpoints reachable from the evaluation job pod.
Eclipse OpenJ9 versions prior to 0.63.0 contain a vulnerability in the JITServer component where an integer overflow in processing the initial TCP connection length field causes a denial of service. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by sending crafted TCP connections, leading to infinite CPU consumption and halting compilation services for all connected JVM clients.

Background Tenable's Research Special Operations (RSO) team has compiled this blog to answer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding two critical vulnerabilities in PHP that were announced on October 20, 2026. FAQ When were these PHP vulnerabilities first disclosed? On October 20, 2026, the CVE identifiers circulated on Hacker News and social media. Later that day, the PHP security team published an advance notice of a security release scheduled for October 21 at 14:00 UTC (10:00 AM ET) to address two critical vulnerabilities. The notice said the team could release earlier if details became public or if exploitation appeared in the wild. CERT-EU also published an advisory (2026-018) naming both CVEs. According to watchTowr , the vulnerabilities were originally set to be disclosed on Thursday, October 22, under embargo. A video shared by researcher Kirill Firsov demonstrates the exploit chain, dubbed php2shell. Firsov credited the video and exploit to researcher LCFR and Calif.io. The PHP security team is giving advance notice: Upcoming security release Wed, Oct 21st 2026, 14:00UTC, two critical vulnerabilities, both rated CVSSv4 9.2. The PHP security team rates both vulnerabilities as CVSSv4.0 9.2. Some early reports, including watchTowr and a Hacker News post, describe them as CVSS 10.0. We will update this blog once PHP publishes its advisory. Which PHP versions are affected? CERT-EU says these vulnerabilities could affect all PHP versions from PHP 5 onwards, and the demonstration video references PHP 5.4.0 and later. PHP will publish the official list of affected and fixed versions with the release. Before the release, security researcher Kevin Beaumont reported the following fixed versions: Affected Versions Fixed Version (expected) PHP 8.5.x 8.5.12 PHP 8.4.x 8.4.27 PHP 8.3.x 8.3.36 PHP 8.2.x 8.2.35 PHP 5.x through 8.1.x End-of-life, no fix expected Linux distributions that ship older PHP packages may backport fixes, so organizations using distribution packages should check their vendor's advisories. How widespread is PHP, and how many hosts are potentially affected? According to W3Techs , PHP is used by 69.3% of websites whose server-side language is known. Platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Laravel and Magento all run on PHP. Security researcher Silas Cutler's rough estimate is that over 1.3 million internet-exposed hosts are potentially vulnerable. A Shodan search by Henk Poley counts over 1.9 million internet-exposed hosts running PHP. Has exploitation been observed in the wild? On October 21, Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht said the company is "seeing early attacks emerging" and is updating its miti…
Operation FlashHole is a sophisticated cyberattack campaign launched by the Lazarus Group targeting South Korea. It exploits mandatory security software CrossWeb EX using watering hole attacks and spear-phishing with fake portfolio and resume websites. The campaign, active since July prior to January, targets sectors including software, construction, and cable equipment manufacturing. It employs a modular malware framework combining multiple malware families such as TechHub, Cubridge, TouchShift, TouchHub, ClientHub, and LPEClient. Techniques used include in-memory execution, DLL side-loading, and command-and-control infrastructure leveraging GitHub and Dropbox. The attackers also incorporate advanced cryptographic methods like post-quantum cryptography (ML-KEM-1024) and GOST encryption. This campaign demonstrates Lazarus Group's evolving tactics specifically tailored for South Korean targets.

In October 2026, OVHcloud's official CLI tool was compromised through a hijacked developer GitHub account. Versions v0.11.0 through v0.15.0 of the CLI contained a malicious binary designed to steal secrets from users' disks. The compromise lasted approximately 94 minutes before being detected and blocked. The attacker replaced binaries on GitHub releases without CI/CD pipeline involvement due to disabled release immutability. The developer account had been compromised since at least March 2026, with evidence of a GlassWorm-linked loader in personal repositories. Users who installed or updated the CLI during the incident window on common platforms are affected, while those who built from source or used other installation methods are not.
The Cart Abandonment Recovery for WooCommerce WordPress plugin before 2.2.0 does not verify the integrity of its cart-recovery token before acting on it and still accepts an unsigned legacy token format, allowing unauthenticated attackers who know a victim's cart session identifier to modify that victim's abandoned-cart record, for example unsubscribing them from recovery emails or applying an arbitrary coupon to their restored cart.
The Click n Chat (Chat Widget Integration) WordPress plugin before 1.1.3 does not perform any authorization check on a lead-export handler, allowing unauthenticated users to download every captured contact record (names, email addresses and phone numbers).
The Click n Chat (Chat Widget Integration) WordPress plugin before 1.1.3 does not sanitise sort parameters before using them in a SQL ORDER BY clause, allowing unauthenticated attackers to perform SQL injection attacks.
The Click n Chat (Chat Widget Integration) WordPress plugin before 1.1.3 does not properly validate a parameter before using it as a column identifier in a SQL query, allowing unauthenticated attackers to perform SQL injection attacks.
The Translate WordPress with Weglot 2.0 WordPress plugin before 6.4.3 does not escape the URLs it re-inserts into a page when rewriting links for a translated language, and reverses the encoding that was applied to them beforehand, allowing unauthenticated users to store a payload which executes in the browser of anyone viewing the page in a translated language.
The Wava Payment Plugin WordPress plugin before 0.3.10 does not perform any authorisation, nonce or origin verification on one of its public REST endpoints, allowing unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the stored credential that identifies the merchant account the store's payments are created against, to force the integration into a verified state the site owner never completed, and to remove the payment method from the store's checkout.
The Wava Payment Plugin WordPress plugin before 0.3.10 does not verify the authenticity of incoming payment-provider notifications, nor restrict who may send them, allowing unauthenticated attackers to change the status of any WooCommerce order in the store, including marking an unpaid order as paid and completed, and cancelling other customers' orders.
In versions up to 0.3.7 the response additionally returns the affected order's billing details, disclosing customer names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers to the same unauthenticated caller.
The Download Manager WordPress plugin before 3.3.71, Download Manager WordPress plugin before 7.5.9 does not have CSRF checks in some places, allowing attackers to make a logged in admin update its privacy and storage settings via a crafted link, including the credential that gates its unauthenticated maintenance endpoint.
The Formidable Forms WordPress plugin before 7.0 does not verify the identity of the caller before recording the timestamp it uses to rate limit payment gateway verification requests, allowing unauthenticated attackers to consume the daily allowance and cause legitimate verification attempts to be refused for the next 24 hours.
The Elementor Website Builder WordPress plugin before 4.3.5 does not sanitize the text content of SVG files, checking only their elements and attributes, allowing users with the Contributor role and above to store a payload which breaks out when the SVG is rendered inline in a page and executes in the browser of any user viewing it. Execution is specific to Chromium-based browsers; Firefox is not affected.
The Elementor Website Builder WordPress plugin before 4.3.5 does not sanitize uploaded SVG files on every upload route, allowing users with the Author role and above to upload a file containing JavaScript, which will run in the browser of any user who opens it. Exploitation requires unfiltered file uploads to be enabled in the Elementor Website Builder WordPress plugin before 4.3.5 settings, which is not the default.
