| High | 8.7 | EPSS 0.7% | CVE-2026-50180Langroid · SQLChatAgent _validate_query blocklist misses pg_read_file family enabling arbitrary file read High8.7EPSS 0.7%GCVE DatabaseCVE-2026-50180 ### Summary `SQLChatAgent` in `langroid` ships a `_validate_query` defense-in-depth layer whose `_DANGEROUS_SQL_PATTERNS` regex blocklist enumerates dangerous SQL primitives by specific function name. The list misses the canonical PostgreSQL filesystem-disclosure family `pg_read_file()`, `pg_stat_file()`, `pg_ls_logdir()`, `pg_ls_waldir()`, `pg_current_logfile()` (and similar `SELECT`-shaped functions in the same family). It also leaves SQL Server `OPENDATASOURCE` and SQLite `ATTACH '<file>' AS x` (DATABASE keyword omitted) unblocked. An attacker able to shape the LLM's generated SQL (directly via prompt input or transitively via prompt-injection in data the LLM ingests) can read arbitrary files from the PostgreSQL host through ordinary `SELECT` queries, even with the agent's strict default configuration (`allow_dangerous_operations=False`, `allowed_statement_types=['SELECT']`). The payloads survive the statement-type allowlist (each is a `SELECT`) and pass through the regex blocklist (none of the function names match), then reach the live SQLAlchemy engine via `SQLChatAgent.run_query`. ### Affected versions `langroid` `<= 0.63.0` (latest at the time of this report; PyPI release 2026-05-27). The vulnerable code path is `langroid/agent/special/sql/sql_chat_agent.py::_validate_query`, which consults the module-level `_DANGEROUS_SQL_PATTERNS` literal at `sql_chat_agent.py:113-141`. ### Privilege required Any caller able to influence the LLM-generated `RunQueryTool.query` string that reaches `SQLChatAgent.run_query`. In a typical deployment this is any client of a SQLChatAgent-backed service, or any upstream data source whose content the LLM is asked to read and summarise. No PostgreSQL credentials are required from the attacker; the agent holds them. ### Vulnerable code `langroid/agent/special/sql/sql_chat_agent.py:113-141` (the `_DANGEROUS_SQL_PATTERNS` literal) and `sql_chat_agent.py:546-615` (the `_validate_query` method that consults it): ```python # sql_chat_agent.py:113 _DANGEROUS_SQL_PATTERNS: List["re.Pattern[str]"] = [ re.compile(r"\bcopy\b[\s\S]*\bprogram\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bpg_read_server_files?\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bpg_read_binary_file\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bpg_ls_dir\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\blo_(import|export)\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\binto\s+(outfile|dumpfile)\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bload_file\s*\(", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bload\s+data\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bload_extension\s*\(", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\battach\s+database\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bxp_cmdshell\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bsp_oacreate\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bsp_oamethod\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bopenrowset\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile(r"\bbulk\s+insert\b", re.IGNORECASE), re.compile( r"\bcreate\s+(or\s+replace\s+)?(function|procedure|trigger)\b", re.IGNORECASE, ), re.compile(r"\bcreate\s+extension\b", re.IGNORECASE), ] ``` The blocklist is a list of `\b<exact-token>\b` literals. PostgreSQL ships several near-name functions on the same primitive that none of these match: | Function | What it returns | Matched by blocklist? | |---|---|---| | `pg_read_server_file('/path')` | file contents | yes (`pg_read_server_files?`) | | `pg_read_binary_file('/path')` | binary contents | yes | | `pg_ls_dir('/path')` | directory listing | yes | | `pg_read_file('/path')` | file contents | **no** (no `_server_` infix) | | `pg_stat_file('/path')` | size, mtime, ctime, atime, isdir | **no** | | `pg_ls_logdir()` | filenames in PostgreSQL log dir | **no** | | `pg_ls_waldir()` | WAL filenames and sizes | **no** | | `pg_ls_tmpdir()` | temp-dir listing | **no** | | `pg_ls_archive_statusdir()` | archive-status directory listing | **no** | | `pg_current_logfile()` | active server log path | **no** | Each of these is a `SELECT`-shaped function call. They pass the `sqlglot_exp.Select`-only statement-type allowlist applied at `sql_chat_agent.py:583-614`, then evade the regex blocklist (their names contain no token the blocklist enumerates), then reach the SQLAlchemy `session.execute(text(query))` sink inside `SQLChatAgent.run_query` (line 631 onwards). Two non-PostgreSQL secondary gaps with the same regex-enumeration shape: - The SQLite pattern `\battach\s+database\b` requires the literal `DATABASE` keyword. Per the SQLite grammar (https://www.sqlite.org/lang_attach.html) the keyword is optional: `ATTACH '/path/to/db' AS x` is valid syntax and matches no entry in the blocklist. Whether the agent rejects this via the statement-type allowlist depends on how the configured `sqlglot` dialect parses it; on PostgreSQL dialect parsing fails (sqlglot returns no `Select`) and the statement-type check rejects, but a SQLite-dialect SQLChatAgent (`database_uri="sqlite:///..."`) returns the statement as `sqlglot_exp.Attach`, whi | GCVE Database | ||

| High | 7.5 | EPSS 0.5% | High7.5EPSS 0.5%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-53539 ### Summary When parsing `application/x-www-form-urlencoded` bodies, `QuerystringParser` located the field separator with a two step lookup: it first scanned the entire remaining buffer for `&`, and only when no `&` existed anywhere ahead did it fall back to scanning for `;`. For a body that uses `;` as the separator and contains no `&`, every field iteration performed a full failed `&` scan over the entire remaining buffer before locating the nearby `;`. With N semicolon separated fields in a chunk of size B, this yields O(B^2) byte comparisons per chunk. An attacker can submit a small crafted body of the form `a;a;a;...` and cause the parser to spend seconds of CPU per request. A handful of concurrent requests can exhaust worker processes. ### Details In `python_multipart/multipart.py`, both the `FIELD_NAME` and `FIELD_DATA` states located the next separator like this: ```python sep_pos = data.find(b"&", i) if sep_pos == -1: sep_pos = data.find(b";", i) ``` `data.find(b"&", i)` scans from `i` to the end of the buffer and returns `-1` only when there is no `&` anywhere in the remainder. For a `;` separated body with no `&`, this failed full buffer scan repeats once per field, making parsing quadratic in the body length. For example, a 1 MiB url encoded body consisting of `a;` repeated ~500,000 times, submitted with `Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded`, causes the parser to perform on the order of 10^11 byte comparisons, consuming several seconds of CPU for a single request. Cost scales quadratically with chunk size. The parser is reachable through the public `QuerystringParser` class and through the high level `FormParser`, `create_form_parser`, and `parse_form` APIs for url encoded bodies. It is also the parser Starlette and FastAPI use for `application/x-www-form-urlencoded` request bodies via `request.form()`. ### Impact Uncontrolled CPU consumption (denial of service). Parsing is synchronous, so a single small crafted form body occupies the handling worker for seconds, blocking any other work on that worker until parsing finishes. Sustained concurrent requests keep workers continuously busy, degrading or denying service. ### Mitigation Upgrade to `python-multipart` `0.0.30` or later, which treats only `&` as a field separator (per the [WHATWG URL standard](https://url.spec.whatwg.org/#urlencoded-parsing)) using a single bounded scan, making parsing linear in the body length. | CVE Database V5 | ||
| Low | 3.7 | EPSS 0.3% | CVE-2026-53538Kludex python-multipart · Interpretation Conflict Low3.7EPSS 0.3%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-53538 ### Summary `QuerystringParser` treated `;` as a field separator in `application/x-www-form-urlencoded` bodies, in addition to `&`. The [WHATWG URL standard](https://url.spec.whatwg.org/#urlencoded-parsing), modern browsers, and Python's `urllib.parse` (since the CVE-2021-23336 fix) treat only `&` as a separator. This creates a parser differential: the same bytes are tokenized into different fields than a WHATWG compliant intermediary would produce, allowing an attacker to smuggle extra form fields past an upstream body inspecting component. ### Details In `python_multipart/multipart.py`, the `FIELD_NAME` and `FIELD_DATA` states located the next separator by scanning for `&` and, failing that, for `;`: ```python sep_pos = data.find(b"&", i) if sep_pos == -1: sep_pos = data.find(b";", i) ``` As a result, `;` acted as a field boundary. Because the fallback only triggered when no `&` remained in the current chunk, tokenization also depended on unrelated bytes later in the buffer and on how the body was split across `write()` calls. This is the same class of issue as CVE-2021-23336 in CPython's `urllib.parse`. For example, a body inspecting WAF or gateway that follows the WHATWG rule (only `&` separates fields) receives: ``` role=user&x=;role=admin ``` The upstream parses two fields, `role=user` and `x=";role=admin"`, sees a benign `role=user`, and forwards the request. `QuerystringParser` parsed the same bytes as three fields: `role="user"`, `x=""`, and `role="admin"`. The application (for example via Starlette/FastAPI `request.form()`, where the last value wins) then received `role=admin`, a value the upstream validator never saw. The parser is reachable through the public `QuerystringParser` class, the high level `FormParser`, `create_form_parser`, and `parse_form` APIs, and Starlette/FastAPI `request.form()` for url encoded bodies. ### Impact Interpretation conflict / HTTP parameter pollution. An attacker can smuggle extra or overriding form fields past an upstream component that applies the WHATWG separator rule, reaching the backend with parameters the intermediary did not observe. ### Mitigation Upgrade to `python-multipart` `0.0.30` or later, which treats only `&` as a field separator per the [WHATWG URL standard](https://url.spec.whatwg.org/#urlencoded-parsing). `;` is parsed as ordinary field data, matching `urllib.parse`, browsers, and other compliant parsers. | CVE Database V5 | ||
| Medium | 5.3 | EPSS 0.1% | Medium5.3EPSS 0.1%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-12003 To allow builds of Python to be run from an in-tree layout (rather than an installed file layout), the VPATH variable is defined at build time and used to locate certain landmarks - specifically, Modules/setup.local. When this landmark is found relative to VPATH relative to the executable, Python assumes it is running in a source tree and generates a different default sys.path. This code remains in release builds, so that release-ready builds can be built in-tree. On Windows, since builds are written to 'PCbuild/', the value of VPATH is set to '..\..', which results in a landmark of '..\..\Modules\setup.local'. This path is outside the install directory of Python, and may have different permissions, potentially allowing a low-privilege user to create the landmark and an alternative `Lib` folder that will be discovered by an otherwise restricted install. Such a setup occurs with the legacy default install location for all users (in the now superseded EXE installer), due to how Windows allows all users to create folders in the root directory of their OS drive. Our recommended mitigation on Windows is to migrate away from the legacy installer and use the new [Python install manager](https://www.python.org/downloads/latest/pymanager/) to install for the current user. Installs where the directory two levels above the Python installation directory have equivalent permissions are unaffected (in general, a per-user install cannot be modified at all by other users, removing any escalation of privilege risk, and could be directly modified by a privileged user, making the potential tampering irrelevant). Alternative mitigations might include preemptively creating and restricting access to a `Modules` directory. Be aware that only 3.13 and 3.14 will receive updated legacy installers - earlier fixes are only provided as sources. Platforms other than Windows allow VPATH to be overridden, but as they don't usually use a separated directory in the build for binaries, are unlikely to have a landmark reference outside of the install directory. The landmark detection involving VPATH is a fallback for when a more specific landmark - .\pybuilddir.txt - is absent, and was included for compatibility. Future releases of Python will no longer include the fallback, and so builds will need to generate or preserve the pybuilddir.txt file in order to work in-tree. This landmark file has been generated on Windows since 3.11, and on other platforms for longer. | CVE Database V5 | ||

An authenticated UI/API user with Kubernetes read-only access to the cluster (e.g. `pods/get` in the Airflow namespace) could harvest the JWT from `kubectl describe pod` output and then call state-mutating Execution API endpoints — triggering Dag runs, clearing runs, reading or writing Variables / Connections / XComs — as if they were a running task. Affects deployments using the `KubernetesExecutor`. Users are advised to upgrade to `apache-airflow` 3.2.2 or later. The impact depends on the StAX implementation in use: * JRE built-in StAX: Forbidden characters are silently written to the output, producing malformed XML. Conforming parsers must reject such documents with a fatal error, which may cause downstream log-processing systems to drop the affected records. * Alternative StAX implementations (e.g., Woodstox https://github.com/FasterXML/woodstox , a transitive dependency of the Jackson XML Dataformat module): An exception is thrown during the logging call, and the log event is never delivered to its intended appender, only to Log4j's internal status logger. Since KNIME Business Hub uses Apache Artemis it is also affected by the issue. However, since Apache Artemis is not exposed to the outside it requires at least normal user privileges and the ability to execute workflows in an executor. Such a user can install and register a federated mirror without authentication to the original Apache Artemis instance and thereby read all internal messages and inject new messages. The issue affects all versions of KNIME Business Hub. A fixed version of Apache Artemis is shipped with versions 1.18.0, 1.17.4, and 1.16.3. We recommend updating to a fixed version as soon as possible since no workaround is known. | CVE Database V5 | ||

| High | 7.3 | EPSS 0.5% | CVE-2025-40927MANWAR CGI::Simple · HTTP Request/Response Splitting High7.3EPSS 0.5%CVE Database V5CVE-2025-40927 CGI::Simple versions before 1.282 for Perl has a HTTP response splitting flaw This vulnerability is a confirmed HTTP response splitting flaw in CGI::Simple that allows HTTP response header injection, which can be used for reflected XSS or open redirect under certain conditions. Although some validation exists, it can be bypassed using URL-encoded values, allowing an attacker to inject untrusted content into the response via query parameters. As a result, an attacker can inject a line break (e.g. %0A) into the parameter value, causing the server to split the HTTP response and inject arbitrary headers or even an HTML/JavaScript body, leading to reflected cross-site scripting (XSS), open redirect or other attacks. The issue documented in CVE-2010-4410 https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2010-4410 is related but the fix was incomplete. Impact By injecting %0A (newline) into a query string parameter, an attacker can: * Break the current HTTP header * Inject a new header or entire body * Deliver a script payload that is reflected in the server’s response That can lead to the following attacks: * reflected XSS * open redirect * cache poisoning * header manipulation | CVE Database V5 |
