CtrlPanel is open-source billing software for hosting providers. Versions 1.1.1 and prior contain a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the admin role management interface. In app/Http/Controllers/Admin/RoleController.php, the datatable() method interpolates $role->name and $role->color directly into a <span> element's HTML and style attribute without sanitization, and the chained .rawColumns(['actions', 'name']) call instructs DataTables to render the name column as raw HTML, bypassing automatic output escaping. An admin with role creation or edit permissions can inject a payload such as <img src=x onerror="alert('XSS_POC')"> into the name or color fields, which is persisted to the database and executes in the browser of every admin who loads the /admin/roles page. This enables session hijacking via cookie theft, credential harvesting through fake login prompts or keyloggers, lateral privilege escalation by performing admin actions on behalf of victims, and a persistent backdoor that re-executes on every page load until the malicious role record is removed. This issue has been resolved in version 1.2.0.
CVE-2026-44429 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the modelcontextprotocol (MCP) registry versions prior to 1.7.7. The vulnerability arises from improper neutralization of input in the server.websiteUrl field, which is included in the public catalogue UI without sufficient escaping. This allows an attacker with publish access to inject malicious event handlers into the registry homepage. The vulnerability is medium severity with a CVSS 5.1 score and is fixed in version 1.7.7.
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, he tooltip mouseover handler in app/src/block/popover.ts reads aria-label via getAttribute and passes it through decodeURIComponent before assigning to messageElement.innerHTML in app/src/dialog/tooltip.ts:41. The encoder used at the producer side, escapeAriaLabel in app/src/util/escape.ts:19-25, only handles HTML special characters (", ', <, literal <) — it leaves %XX URL-escapes untouched. So a doc title containing %3Cimg src=x onerror=...%3E round-trips through escapeAriaLabel and the HTML attribute layer unmodified. Then decodeURIComponent on the consumer side converts %3C to a literal < character (a real <, NOT a character reference). When that string is assigned to innerHTML, the HTML5 tokenizer enters TagOpenState on the literal <, parses the <img> element, and the onerror handler fires. Because the renderer runs with nodeIntegration: true, contextIsolation: false, webSecurity: false (app/electron/main.js:407-411), require('child_process') is reachable from the injected handler, escalating to arbitrary code execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.
SiYuan versions up to 3.6.5 have a critical cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Bazaar marketplace UI. The vulnerability arises because the Name and Version fields from plugin-related JSON files are rendered into the UI without proper HTML escaping, allowing malicious HTML to be executed when the marketplace tab is opened. This issue is fixed in version 3.7.0. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 9.0, indicating critical severity.
CVE-2026-8496 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Alinto SOGo version 5.12.7. It arises from insufficient sanitization of SVG content with an onrepeat event handler embedded in the description field of ICS calendar invitation files. When a malicious calendar invite is viewed in the authenticated SOGo webmail session, arbitrary JavaScript can execute. This may allow attackers to access mailbox contents, steal emails and contacts, hijack sessions, and perform other actions permitted to the authenticated user. The vulnerability is fixed in version 5.12.8.
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.18, the JSX renderer escapes style attribute object values for HTML but not for CSS. Untrusted input in a style object value or property name can therefore inject additional CSS declarations into the rendered style attribute. The impact is limited to CSS and does not allow JavaScript execution or HTML attribute breakout. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.12.18.
Apache Polaris accepts literal `*` characters in namespace and table names. When it
later builds temporary S3 access policies for delegated table access, those
same characters appear to be reused unescaped in S3 IAM resource patterns
and
`s3:prefix` conditions.
In S3 IAM policy matching, `*` is treated as a wildcard rather than as
ordinary text. That means temporary credentials issued for one crafted table
can match the storage path of a different table.
In private testing against Polaris 1.4.0 using Polaris' AWS S3 temporary-
credential path on both MinIO and real AWS S3, credentials returned for
crafted tables such as `f*.t1`, `f*.*`, `*.*`, and `foo.*` could reach other
tables' S3 locations.
The confirmed behavior includes:
- reading another table's metadata control file ([Iceberg metadata JSON]);
- listing another table's exact S3 table prefix ([table prefix]);
- and, when write delegation was returned for the crafted table, creating
and
deleting an object under another table's exact S3 table prefix.
A control case using ordinary different names did not allow the same
cross-table access.
A least-privilege AWS S3 variant was also confirmed in which the attacker
principal had no Polaris permissions on the victim table and only the
minimal permissions required to create and use a crafted wildcard table
(namespace-scoped `TABLE_CREATE` and `TABLE_WRITE_DATA` on `*`). In that
setup, direct Polaris access to `foo.t1` remained forbidden, but the
attacker
could still create and load `*.*`, receive delegated S3 credentials, and use
those credentials to list, read, create, and delete objects under `foo.t1`.
In Iceberg, the metadata JSON file is a control file: it tells readers which
data files belong to the table, which snapshots exist, and which table
version
to read. So unauthorized access to it is already a meaningful
confidentiality
problem. The confirmed write-capable variant means the issue is not limited
to
disclosure.
CVE-2026-41318 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Mintplex-Labs' AnythingLLM application versions prior to 1.12.1. The issue arises from unsafe handling of markdown image alt text in the in-chat markdown renderer, specifically in the Chartable component, which does not sanitize chart captions. An attacker able to influence the LLM's output can inject malicious scripts that execute in other users' browsers when they view the affected chat. Version 1.12.1 includes a patch addressing this vulnerability.
mailcow: dockerized is an open source groupware/email suite based on docker. Versions prior to 2026-03b have a second-order SQL injection vulnerability in the quarantine_category field via the Mailcow API. The /api/v1/add/mailbox endpoint stores quarantine_category without validation or sanitization. This value is later used by quarantine_notify.py, which constructs SQL queries using unsafe % string formatting instead of parameterized queries. This results in a delayed (second-order) SQL injection when the quarantine notification job executes, allowing an attacker to inject arbitrary SQL. Using a UNION SELECT, sensitive data (e.g., admin credentials) can be exfiltrated and rendered inside quarantine notification emails. Version 2026-03b fixes the vulnerability.
FreeScout is a free self-hosted help desk and shared mailbox. Versions prior to 1.8.213 have a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the mailbox signature feature. The sanitization function `Helper::stripDangerousTags()` (`app/Misc/Helper.php:568`) uses an incomplete blocklist of only four HTML tags (`script`, `form`, `iframe`, `object`) and does not remove event handler attributes. When a mailbox signature is saved via `MailboxesController::updateSave()` (`app/Http/Controllers/MailboxesController.php:267`), HTML elements such as `<img>`, `<svg>`, and `<details>` with event handler attributes like `onerror` and `onload` pass through sanitization unchanged and are stored in the database. The signature is then rendered as raw HTML via the Blade `{!! !!}` tag in `editor_bottom_toolbar.blade.php:6` and re-inserted into the visible DOM by jQuery `.html()` at `main.js:1789-1790`, triggering the injected event handlers. Any authenticated user with the `ACCESS_PERM_SIGNATURE` (`sig`) permission on a mailbox -- a delegatable, non-admin permission -- can inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript into the mailbox signature. The payload fires automatically, with no victim interaction, whenever any agent or administrator opens any conversation in the affected mailbox. This enables session hijacking (under CSP bypass conditions such as IE11 or module-weakened CSP), phishing overlays that work in all browsers regardless of CSP, and chaining to admin-level actions including email exfiltration via mass assignment and self-propagating worm behavior across all mailboxes. Version 1.8.213 fixes the issue.
FreeScout is a free self-hosted help desk and shared mailbox. Prior to version 1.8.213, an unauthenticated attacker can inject arbitrary HTML into outgoing emails generated by FreeScout by sending an email with a crafted From display name. The name is stored in the database without sanitization and rendered unescaped into outgoing reply emails via the `{%customer.fullName%}` signature variable. This allows embedding phishing links, tracking pixels, and spoofed content inside legitimate support emails sent from the organization's address. Version 1.8.213 fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-6058 is a medium severity vulnerability affecting Zyxel WRE6505 v2 firmware version V1.00(ABDV.3)C0. It involves improper encoding or escaping in the CGI program of the device's web management interface. An adjacent attacker on the WLAN can exploit this by causing an authenticated administrator to visit the “AP Select” page with a malformed SSID, resulting in a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. There is no impact on confidentiality or integrity. No patch or official remediation has been announced by Zyxel as of the publication date.
Emissary is a P2P based data-driven workflow engine. In versions 8.42.0 and below, Executrix.getCommand() is vulnerable to OS command injection because it interpolates temporary file paths into a /bin/sh -c shell command string without any escaping or input validation. The IN_FILE_ENDING and OUT_FILE_ENDING configuration keys flow directly into these paths, allowing a place author who can write or modify a .cfg file to inject arbitrary shell metacharacters that execute OS commands in the JVM process's security context. The framework already sanitizes placeName via an allowlist before embedding it in the same shell string, but applies no equivalent sanitization to file ending values. No runtime privileges beyond place configuration authorship, and no API or network access, are required to exploit this vulnerability. This is a framework-level defect with no safe mitigation available to downstream implementors, as Executrix provides neither escaping nor documented preconditions against metacharacters in file ending inputs. This issue has been fixed in version 8.43.0.
ChurchCRM is an open-source church management system. In versions prior to 7.2.0, the User Editor (UserEditor.php) renders stored usernames directly into an HTML input value attribute without applying htmlspecialchars(). An administrator can save a username containing HTML attribute-breaking characters and event handlers, which execute in the browser of any administrator who subsequently views that user's editor page, resulting in stored XSS. This issue has been fixed in version 7.2.0.
ChurchCRM is an open-source church management system. In versions prior to 7.2.0, the Pledge Editor renders donation comment values directly into HTML input value attributes without escaping via htmlspecialchars(). An authenticated user with Finance permissions can inject HTML attribute-breaking characters and event handlers into the comment field, which are stored in the database and execute in the browser of any user who subsequently opens the pledge record for editing, resulting in stored XSS. This issue has been fixed in version 7.2.0.
CVE-2026-40302 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in openziti zrok versions prior to 2.0.1. The issue arises because the proxyUi template engine uses Go's text/template, which does not perform HTML escaping, instead of html/template. Specifically, the GitHub OAuth callback handlers embed the attacker-controlled refreshInterval query parameter directly into an error message that is rendered unescaped in HTML. This allows an attacker to craft a login URL that, after the victim completes the OAuth flow, causes arbitrary JavaScript execution in the OAuth server's origin. Version 2.0.1 addresses this vulnerability.
Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that facilitates various operations on PDF files. In versions prior to 2.0.0, file upload endpoints render user-supplied filenames directly into HTML using unsafe methods like innerHTML without sanitization. An attacker can craft a file with a malicious filename containing JavaScript that executes in the uploading user's browser context, resulting in reflected XSS. The issue affects numerous upload endpoints across the application. The issue has been fixed in version 2.0.0.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions 4.28.0 and prior contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in SEO-related fields (SEO Title and Meta Description), where user-controlled input is rendered without proper output encoding into HTML contexts including <title> tags, <meta> attributes, and JSON-LD structured data. An attacker can inject a payload such as "></title><script>alert(1)</script> to break out of the intended HTML context and execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of any authenticated user who views the affected page. This can be leveraged to perform authenticated API requests, access sensitive data such as usernames, email addresses, and roles via internal APIs, and exfiltrate it to an attacker-controlled server. This issue has been fixed in version 4.29.0.
CWE-116 Improper Encoding or Escaping of Output vulnerability exists that could cause log injection and forged log when an attacker alters the POST /j_security check request payload.
Apache Log4cxx's XMLLayout https://logging.apache.org/log4cxx/1.7.0/classlog4cxx_1_1xml_1_1XMLLayout.html , in versions before 1.7.0, fails to sanitize characters forbidden by the XML 1.0 specification https://www.w3.org/TR/xml/#charsets in log messages, NDC, and MDC property keys and values, producing invalid XML output. Conforming XML parsers must reject such documents with a fatal error, which may cause downstream log processing systems to drop or fail to index affected records.
An attacker who can influence logged data can exploit this to suppress individual log records, impairing audit trails and detection of malicious activity.
Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4cxx 1.7.0, which fixes this issue.
